Work & Projects

In my work to add more traceability of traffic to and between Slowby products, I sometimes need to compose URLs with search parameters, such as the standard UTM parameters. These URLs can become long, which makes a functionality-breaking typo more likely.

I wrote a Raycast extension which allows to paste in a URL, and check if the parameters were encoded well using a table that presents the paramaters parsed from the URL. The keys or values in the table format can then be edited, and edits will also be reflected back in the URL.

The extension also includes convenience commands, for example, a command to add a new parameter, or all UTM parameters at once.

I've been using this extension several times, but didn't publish it yet, because I think the flow to create a URL from scratch could be improved (or entirely separated/removed) to clarify the core feature set of the extension.
